Industrial Visit to Bangladesh Army Aviation


An industrial visit for students was conducted by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering with the Cooperation of 801, Army Aviation Workshop on the 17th September, 2015. Because of providing a chance to experience the real life aircrafts and quenching their thirst for practical knowledge directly related to their future career, the students were taken to Army Aviation Workshop from MIST.

The students along with the faculty members and GSO-2 were cordially welcomed by The unit Commandant Col. Moinul Haque Mamun, psc. After the formal brief, students participated in a practical class session on rotary and fixed wing air crafts conducted by Maj. Maruf Hossain and Maj. Faisal Ahmed. For the rotary aircraft, a fourth generation state of the art AIRBUS 365 Dauphin and a two bladed BELL 206A was demonstrated with full specifications and for the fixed wing aircraft Cessna 172, which is used for air reconnaissance other than transporting passengers and a training aircraft were demonstrated. The students got also a brief idea about the gas turbine engine and Real flight Simulator of the aircraft which is used to train the pilot. This short tour inspired the students and was able to create zeal among young engineers about their future career.
